AEGEE / European Students’ Forum is looking for a Project Officer to work together with us in our headoffice in Brussels. AEGEE membership is not a requirement to apply for the position.

AEGEE is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organisations. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation, we are open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe. AEGEE puts the idea of a unified Europe into practice. Operating without a national level, it brings 13000 students from 40 different countries directly in touch with each other.

We are looking for a young professional to work with us in the development of the project “Why European Parliament?”(YEP), which will, through social media, an online platform and educational materials inform young people about the European Institutions with a special focus on the European Parliament and the upcoming European Parliamentary elections.

Main responsibilities:

  • Carry out the implementation of the Why European Parliament (YEP) Project
  • Within the project, design and implement the media campaign to inform young people about the European institutions and the European Parliament
  • Develop educational materials regarding the European Institutions
  • Organisation of meetings, trainings, seminars (logistics, contents)
  • Support the writing of grant applications and reports
  • Communication and cooperation with partners (other NGOs, European institutions)
  • Support the development of tools and resources

The work in an NGO team requires sometimes other tasks:

  • General administrative work
  • Support in communication and design

Expected qualifications, knowledge and attitudes:

  • Extensive experience in Project Management
  • Communication and design skills
  • Social media/web management experience
  • Engagement in youth NGO or other NGO at the national and/or European levels
  • Intercultural teamwork mindset
  • Openness to work in a fast-paced and flexible NGO environment
  • Interest in the work of an international youth NGO
  • Proactivity, ability to work independently and learning mindset
  • Strong people and communication skills are an asset
  • English C1 and French is an asset
  • Basic office IT skills: Microsoft Office suite, Powerpoint skills, online collaborative tools (gdrive, skype)
  • Interest, knowledge and/or experience in EU-funded projects in the field of youth
  • Willingness to travel internationally from time to time
  • Non-Formal education experience is an asset
