Dear Network,

We are glad to launch the Open Call for you to become a member of the Corporate and Institutional Relations Committee of AEGEE-Europe. We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic member who would like to work together with the Comité Directeur to improve the association from a financial point of view. The member of the committee will support the Comité Directeur to improve the financial sustainability and performance and to implement the Corporate and Institutional Fundraising Strategy of AEGEE-Europe.

The committee meetings will almost all take place online and work will be done remotely, thus it’s possible to apply regardless of your city of residence. Committee members are volunteers, however this is a great opportunity to gain more experience and get better knowledge in Fundraising and External Relations, enhance your sales and/or grant writing skills, boost your CV and help make AEGEE stronger all at the same time. While working on the committee, it will be possible to receive further tips, guidance and mentorship from the Financial Director and relevant officers of AEGEE-Europe.

 

Main tasks:

  1. If your interest is mostly institutional fundraising, then you will assist the Financial Director and the entire Comite Directeur in grants writing and development of grant applications towards already known and unknown sources of funding (Erasmus+, European Youth Foundation, others)
  2. If your interest is mostly Corporate Fundraising you will contribute to:
    1. Create and implement a strategy for the Corporate Fundraising of AEGEE-Europe
    2. Examine renewable partnerships of AEGEE-Europe
    3. Identifying potential foundations as long-term donors
  3. It is also possible to work on both kind of Fundraising. For both teams it will also be an important goal to help the locals, providing them with useful tools to improve their Financial Sustainability and Fundraising Capacity

 

Main tasks will also include:

  1. Assist the Financial Director and the entire Comite Directeur in grants writing and development of grant applications towards already known and unknown sources of funding (Erasmus+, European Youth Foundation, others)
  2. Create and implement a strategy for the Corporate Fundraising of AEGEE-Europe
  3. Research for concrete, new possible partnerships and fundraising opportunities for AEGEE-Europe and the Network
  4. Examine renewable partnerships of AEGEE-Europe
  5. Identifying potential foundations as long-term donors
  6. Adhere and improve the organization financial policies and procedures together with the Financial Director of AEGEE-Europe
  7. Help the locals, providing them with useful tools to improve their Financial Sustainability and Fundraising Capacity

 

Focus on:

  • Locals’ financial development
  • AEGEE-Europe Financial Policies and Procedures
  • AEGEE-Europe Initiatives and AEGEE-Europe Projects
  • Possibilities for Fundraising for AEGEE-Europe Secretariat

Experience / Skills needed:

  • Integrity, Honesty and Discretion
  • Basic knowledge on Business, finance, accounting, or a related field background
  • Familiarity with business principles and practices
  • Experience in corporate and institutional fundraising
  • Experience in grant-writing (mention concrete examples and possible successes)
  • Communication skills
  • Experience in external communication / selling AEGEE and ideas, initiatives
  • Good understanding of the needs of AEGEE and matching it with external resources
  • Organisational, Planning and Problem-solving skills

 

Must have th following skills and characteristics:

  • Integrity, Honesty and Discretion
  • Interpersonal communication skills (polite, friendly and open)
  • Language skills – Sufficient English to communicate understandably with team members and a good command (minimum B2) of the language(s) in which you would like to fundraise
  • Strong motivation to put effort into making AEGEE stronger and more financially sustainable

 

It would be bonus if you had:

  • Experience in corporate AND/OR institutional fundraising incl. grant-writing (feel free to mention concrete examples and possible successes)
  • Experience in external communication / selling AEGEE and ideas, initiatives
  • Good understanding of the needs of AEGEE and matching it with external resources
  • Familiarity with business principles and practices
  • Sales experience or at least being comfortable contacting and trying to convince strangers (especially if you’re interested in being on the corporate fundraising team)
