Open Call for Key to Europe Core Team

Key to Europe is AEGEE’s annual publication, presenting our work and achievements, providing an overview of our activities throughout the respective year and an insight into the possibilities for the upcoming year. It is one of our main tools for external representation, but also a nice way of updating the Network and keeping our partners informed about our current initiatives. This publication is made each year during the spring and summer in order to be printed at the end of the summer and delivered to the locals at Autumn Agora.

Spring has arrived, so it’s time to find the Core Team members for the Key to Europe 2016 – 2017. To be precise, we are looking for:

  • Editor-in-Chief
  • Creative Director
  • Photo Database Manager
  • Research and Statistics Manager
  • Editors
  • Journalists
  • Proofreaders

Editor-in-Chief

Tasks:

  • drafting the general concept of the publication
  • selecting the articles to be included in the publication
  • supervising the overall process of creating articles
  • selecting the design and layout of the publication
  • supervising the overall process of design and layout creation
  • managing the team

Requirements:

  • experience in managing a team
  • knowledge of the functioning and history of the organisation
  • experience in working on publications (producing, editing, or writing for a publication)
  • good command of the English language

Creative Director

Tasks:

  • managing the design and layout of the publication

Requirements:

  • familiarity with design programs
  • experience in layout making is an asset
  • creative mindset

Photo Database Manager

Tasks:

  • collecting and managing the photos for the publication

Requirements:

  • familiarity with photo editing programs
  • creative mindset

Research and Statistics Manager

Tasks:

  • researching information about activities in the organisation in 2014-2015
  • researching information about activities throughout AEGEE’s history
  • creating statistical overviews of our activities/impact
  • creating a database of contacts relevant for the development of the publication
  • ensuring that information presented in the publication is correct

Requirements:

  • knowledge of the functioning and history of the organisation
  • experience in working with statistics
  • analytical mindset

Editors

Tasks:

  • coordinating the publication in cooperation with the Editor-in-Chief
  • supervising the creation of articles for certain sections
  • editing articles for certain sections
  • writing articles for the publication

Requirements:

  • experience in editing articles
  • experience in writing articles

Journalists

Tasks:

  • writing articles for the publication
  • ensuring that information presented in the articles in correct

Requirements:

  • experience in writing articles (professional journalist experience is an asset)
  • experience in creative writing is an asset
  • ability to present information in an engaging way

Proofreaders

Tasks:

  • correcting language-related mistakes in the articles
  • closely cooperating with journalists and giving them feedback

Requirements:

  • excellent command of the English language (being native speaker is an asset)
  • previous experience in proofreading

We are especially looking for candidates for the positions of Editor-in-Chief, Creative Director and Photo Database Manager, but all applications are welcome.
