If you\u2019re a CD member, it just happens. <br \/>One moment you are struggling with the shower cabin of a kranky house in Schaarbeeck and half an hour later you find yourself in the middle of one of the finest rooms of the European Parliament face-to-face with MEPs and high rank politicians. <\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday Percin and me were invited to take part in a high profile conference organized by the YFJ and PES about the visa regime: The EU visa policy \u2013 a perspective from Western Balkans and ENP countries. The focus was on the visa regime present in the Western Balkans and on the countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy agreement.  <br \/>In spite of the general skepticism about the efficiency of Visa Facilitation Agreements, our president Dragan, back from Serbia with a freshly obtained visa, is convinced they work &#8211; and he is the living example!<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018serious\u2019 report of the conference can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.karl.aegee.org\/aeg-info.nsf\/bdedfca988b2db3c85256207004f45a9\/d9728911ee164d3ec125751700479495?OpenDocument\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from E.U. policy, it was also the perfect networking opportunity: in one afternoon we met &#8211; had lunch &#8211; a glass of wine with several MEPs, invited them and their assistents at CD\u2019s Christmas conference in Atomium and at Y Vote events, arranged a probable new AEGEE Contact in Mostar (Bosnia) and started the agreements for a partnership with <a href=\"http:\/\/flarenetwork.org\/\">FLARE<\/a>, apart from, of course, strenghtening the ties with the YFJ Bureau &#038; Secretariat members.<\/p>\n<p>No doubt: spending less time in front of the computer and getting out of the house every now and then really pays off.<\/p>\n<p><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/s\/c\/bin\/slideshow.swf\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" flashvars=\"host=picasaweb.google.com&#038;RGB=0x000000&#038;feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Ftenaprelec%2Falbumid%2F5279852081628661585%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss\" pluginspage=\"http:\/\/www.macromedia.com\/go\/getflashplayer\"><\/embed><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">>From rags to riches in 40 minutes?
