Luckily, I was awarded a very nice corner, being the <st1:place st=\"on\">Iberian  peninsula<\/st1:place>. I went their to participate in the Fall Network Meeting \u201cBe ON in Le\u00f3n\u201d, organised by the network commissioner of that area, Oscar, and very enthusiastic mem<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;font-size:100%;\"  lang=\"EN-GB\" >bers of AEGEE-Le\u00f3n.<\/span><br \/>\n<br \/><span style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;font-size:100%;\"  lang=\"EN-GB\" ><br \/>\n<br \/><o:p><\/o:p><\/span>  <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">To be sure to also have some time to see the city (what I unfortunately sometimes don\u2019t manage to do during an Agora <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><span style=\"\">L<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">), I booked a flight two days before the start of the event. I arrived in Le\u00f3n on Wednesday night and immediately was made familiar with Spanish tapas. In Le\u00f3n there are a lot of bars in the centre where you can get a small beer together with some very tasty food for only 1 \u20ac.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<br \/><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">On Thursday the event was not startin<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">g yet, so I had the day for myself. In the morning I could use the AEGEE office at the university to answer email (Work as a CD-member n<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">ever stops) and in the afternoon I walked around the city. In the evening there were already quite some people arriving as there was a small pre-event in Le\u00f3n. Again beer+tapas and afterwards enjoying nightlife in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paradoxplace.com\/Photo%20Pages\/Spain\/Camino_de_Santiago\/Leon\/Leon_Cathedral\/Images\/800\/Cathedral-May06-DS8024sAR700.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 312px; height: 346px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paradoxplace.com\/Photo%20Pages\/Spain\/Camino_de_Santiago\/Leon\/Leon_Cathedral\/Images\/800\/Cathedral-May06-DS8024sAR700.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<br \/><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;font-family:arial;\"  class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">The next morning there was of course a city tour, during which AEGEE-Le\u00f3n was telling about the history of all the nice buildings. Unfortunately for me, this was done in Spanish, since almost all participants were either Spanish or d<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">oing an Erasmus in <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Spain<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and speaking the language. After the city tour the whole group (in total growing to about 150) went to the location of the NWM. This was in a small village in the mountains north of Le\u00f3n. The location was some kind of youth hostel on a camping site. The location was quite suited for a NWM, as there were no neighbours around that could complain about parties being too loud or too late. The first session was about the state of the ne<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">twork in the area. All locals presented one strong and one weak point about AEGEE in their city, interrupted by nice event presentations. After a good lunch the second session was held in thee groups, split according to experience in AEGEE. In the first and second group it was my task to explain to the total beginners in AEGEE and the group that already knew a bit about it, what the Comit\u00e9 Directeur is, what we\u2019re doing in Brussels and how our life in the CD house is. My part was the only thing that was done in English<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"> during this NWM and I could see that for quite some participants it was just as hard to follow this language, as it was for me to understand the parts in Spanish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" face=\"arial\" class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" face=\"arial\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_y6xzBUUs-ww\/Sry6F2W9bkI\/AAAAAAAAAAk\/pHKKu1MT_1g\/s1600-h\/nwm_unodelosworkshops.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_y6xzBUUs-ww\/Sry6F2W9bkI\/AAAAAAAAAAk\/pHKKu1MT_1g\/s320\/nwm_unodelosworkshops.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385383864082198082\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" face=\"arial\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">After a full day of fruitful work the European night was planned. Although almost all drinks were coming from <st1:country-region st=\"on\">Spain<\/st1:country-region> or <st1:country-region st=\"on\">Portugal<\/st1:country-region> (with <st1:country-region st=\"on\">Finland<\/st1:country-region>, <st1:country-region st=\"on\">Poland<\/st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Belgium<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> as exceptions), the variety of alcohol was still very interesting, and the atmosphere was growing as bottles turned empty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" face=\"arial\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><br \/>\n<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" face=\"arial\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc1\/hs240.snc1\/8733_134667347647_659407647_2548878_6328445_n.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 558px; height: 314px;\" src=\"http:\/\/photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc1\/hs240.snc1\/8733_134667347647_659407647_2548878_6328445_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<br \/><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: arial;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"  style=\"font-size:100%;\">Sunday morning again the serious part, although this time a bit later then the day before. The group was again split in three to learn more about exchanges, public relations or ???(I forgot the third one ;)). After lunch the NWM was coming to an end and it was time for me to leave towards the airport. It was a very nice experience to get to know this part of <st1:place st=\"on\">Europe<\/st1:place>, where I hadn\u2019t been before. I have seen that AEGEE is strong is this area and that there are a lot of very enthusiastic members.
