“Election Observation” is a widely known mechanism that aims to ensure the transparency and legitimacy of electoral processes, and aims to build trust and accountability between citizens and governmental entities.

Together with experts on the field of election observation, AEGEE Election Observation provides a youth perspective on elections in Europe. We do this by training and sending young people on election observation missions to specifically assess youth engagement in different countries around Europe.

Do you think the European Parliament elections 2019 is a way of winning back trust from citizens towards the European project? Do you think that participation of young people in the European elections, is one of the ways to give Europe more legitimacy, more visibility and more strength?

The Y Vote project is back and will run over the next two years. It will have it’s peak at the European Elections 2019 – around the beginning of June. The project had two successors, a 2009 and a 2014 edition, which had great impact both on AEGEE and externally.
