Twin fairytale

Attention please! As the AEGEE world knows, AEGEE-Beograd and AEGEE-Istanbul are twins. We connected two continents and two locals and established a beautiful friendship- but it would not be possible without the help of all of us.

This is our story:

Once upon a time, there was an amazing world called AEGEE. The citizens of this world were                                   Ambitious, Energetic,  Generous, Enthusiastic and Emotional

people, all living in this world with the same idea: to create a better place to live in. They imagined a world without borders, prejudices, or bias; a place to be a home for every person willing to live in it peacefully, accepting and supporting differences, sharing love and compassion.

As time passed by, they learned how to help each other and make their idea reality. They even succeeded in organising amazing events and sharing this idea among the others. Soon, a lot of other young people started to support their idea and this world started to grow. The nations were mixing, odd languages were spoken, and new friendships were born.

Thanks to this we found our twin. After a long road of not knowing they exist, after 16 years of living on our own, we finally saw the bliss in 2011. After visiting Belgrade and Istanbul, spending an amazing time in comparing our cultures, tradition, music, we realised we all drink kafu-kahve and eat đevrek-gevrek.

Then we decided to speak up and let the world know: we love each other like brothers and sisters and we are proud of it. Even though the period of twining is limited, we know that no paper can actually stop us in prolonging our friendship.

With the support from AEGEE-Istanbul members, we had an amazing event in Beograd and now again we are doing it in Istanbul on the pre-event of EBM.

And of course who do we finish it, but with the twin video:

Our story is yet to be written, but we felt it was worth sharing.

Thanks a lot for your attention!
