Audit Commissioner for 57th Agora AEGEE-Europe
With the Agora right around the corner we at The AEGEEan are interviewing the candidates to give you an small insight into who the person is behind the face. Here we have with us Eren Bozkurt, running for the Audit Commission position of AEGEE Europe.
Can you say something about yourself?
I am Eren, 23 years old. My hometown is Canakkale which in on the west side of Turkey. I am a person who believes deeply in science, tries to behave kind to nature, and follows his passions. What are these passions? Lifelong learning, camping, cycling, geography, and history.
You are one of the founders of AEGEE-Antalya. What did you do at your local?
After the foundation, I tried to learn everything about AEGEE and how it works. I spread this to my friends, and friends of friends at first. I needed to transfer all this information to local members to survive. When we attend and organize an event, we always learned something, how to manage things, how to make our organization stronger, etc.

What are the best and worst parts of your candidate position?
I think the best part is getting an international organization experience in my field of interest,
audit/finance. And the worst part is taking a high risk in one way. If you make a mistake, you
might cause a mess.
What are your personal AEGEE plans for 2019?
I will keep working hard, organize, and try to make auditing more understandable for
everyone. It is so important to analyze reports correctly and to make a comment about it. I
am willing to keep doing what the Audit Commission has done before and put bricks on that. I am aware of all these responsibilities and am ready to start acting, to do all these things, for example:
- Online Financial Training Meetings
I would like to train treasurers who need and ask for help. We should be more
active with the treasurers because all the information comes from them. In order to
understand correctly and to make a right decision, it needs to be organized and
systematic. After trainings, we can collect feedbacks and store it so that we have
many ideas to improve this training method to be more helpful for next terms.
- Useful Financial Materials and Ideas Cloud
Sometimes it can be a local that needs help with financial materials. My aim is to not only creating things by myself in this case. There are so many educated and experienced people in finance and if we make an announcement to network, I am sure a lot of people would share their materials in this cloud for public in the association. I think this would improve the helpfulness and hospitality among us. If we make every local stronger, AEGEE organization will be stronger.
