>New AEGEE contact in Antalya

>CD is working even on their way to Autumn Agora Kyiv 2009– a proof of that is a CD decision, which was taken in the car on the way to Aachen, where we slept overnight before taking a flight next morning from Dortmund airport to Kiev.

This CD decision approved one more contact, and we are happy to welcome Antalya in AEGEE family!

Antalya, the pearl of Mediterranean, is an attractive Turkish city with the population of 775 thousand inhabitants. It has shady palm-lined boulevards and a prize-winning marina. The snow remains on the top of Toros and Bay mountains during hot seasons and you may swim in the warm waters of Mediterranean at the same day. In this area one can observe, as it were, the progress of history through the statues of gods and goddesses, temples, theatres, agoras, churches, mosques and tombs.

There is Akdeniz University in Antalya with more than 15 thousands students. It was founded in 1982 and for now, there are 11 faculties and a conservatory running at the university. In recent years Akdeniz University has taken a great leap forward towards its present position as one of the most prominent universities in Turkey. Situated in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, we attach as great a value to the social development of our students as we do to the development of education and research opportunities. In the 2003/2004 academic year, a total of 17,287 students attended the university, consisting of 6,943 pre-graduates, 9,037 bachelor degree students, and 1,307 post-graduates.

Good luck to the new contact and we are looking forward to see them signing CdA soon and both attending and organising AEGEE events!
