Fund raising for this Agora, the thrills of it!

Dear Network, do you want to find out about this Agora’s sponsors, partners and the path to gaining them? Well, here you’ll find an interview with their lovely FR responsible Ángela Campos from AEGEE-Zaragoza.

 

The AEGEEan: So first of all congrats for a very big number of sponsors that you guys got for this Agora. We would like to know more about if from the inception you had these in mind?

Thank you a lot. The truth is that although if we are many people in the FR group, I didn’t expect to find such a large group of sponsors.

2)  You as FR head for this statutory event had a very important job, was it as challenging as you expected it to be?

Of course it was. When I accepted to be FR Responsible, I knew that it would be hard. You can’t give up when all the sponsors start to say no. You have to be full of patience and motivation for going ahead with it.

Besides, from the beginning we decided that fund raising is a task in which we must all participate and to which no-one can remain indifferent because we really needed to find funds to finance the cost of Agora. This fact certainly made me feel so supported by the rest of the core team.

And the only thing I can say right now is that the work it all became worthwhile.

3) Let’s talk about the place where the planeries and sessions will take place: Palacio de Congresos de Zaragoza; was it easy to get the place for 800-1000 people?

Actually no. Zaragoza is not a very big city where it’s really difficult to find  a place where it’s possible to organize a big event like this. Because of that, from the beginning we wanted Palacio de Congresos to host our Agora.

4) What about the implication of the Regional Government of Aragon?

We would have like to be more supported by them but we do understand how the economic situation of our region right now is.

5) You also have some other partners like: ALSA, RedBull, Stylo, Orus etc. Can you tell us a little bit about each of them and their contribution to this great and challenging event?

Universidad de Zaragoza, Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza, Diputación general de Aragón, Instituto aragonés de la juventud. They were crucial in preparing the Agora.

ALSA and RENFE discounts were a great help for those participants that land in Spain and have to travel to Zaragoza.

Orus, Pascual, Campofrío, Lind, Martín Martín, Azafrán, Wrigley, Argal, Grupo Villar, Mañocao, Redbull, Primaflor, Helados Lic, Kaiku, Vigali, Arruabarrena, Lapasión, Comoencasa, Errea and Mercazaragoza: All of them have been essential for Agora because they contributed with their products specially for our breakfasts but also for the rest of the meals.

Kemphor, Reysan, Puerto Venecia, ZLC, Cerler global electronics, Saphir, Balay, Las Ranillas Spa, Stylo digital, WIZI: They have contributed with their products to the welcome pack that will be so useful for the participants.

 

I would like to thank them for your supporting; we really appreciate it in times like these. Without them, it would not be possible to manage to organize ZARAGORA 2013.

And, of course, I would like to congratulate my dream team for all the work undertaken in preparation for the Agora. I am proud of being able to work with all of you.
